Lavender Farm

Yesterday, we drove up to the Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm in Kula. It was a bit rainy and cloudy up there (which is fairly common weather for Kula, or most places as you drive up Haleakala), but was still nice to sit outside in the back on their lanai and enjoy a lavender scone (with their delicious lavender lilikoi jelly) and some hot lavender tea.

Extra perk: They have a green initiative - if you bring in your own cup/mug, your first cup of tea or coffee is on them (both lavender-flavored, of course)!

When it's not cloudy up there, the view from their balcony is amazing. You can see the beaches on both sides of the island. But the cloudiness was nice, too. Almost contemplative.

After we finished our scones, we took a walk around the farm with their courtesy lavender-colored umbrellas (that should tell you how frequent the rain is up there). It smelled even more wonderful as we walked around the patches of lavender. It just makes you want to breathe deeply and even close your eyes.

Bump shot.
They have a little gift shop there where they sell everything lavender. Seriously, everything is lavender. From the edible things like lavender jelly, salsa, seasoning/rub, fudge sauce, dark chocolate, coffee, tea, to their bath & body line with lotions, shower gels, chapstick, bars of soap, scrubs, salves, body butters, essential oils, and more. All lavender. And they have testers of everything. They even feature some of their "edibles" and have samples of those, too (the lavender fudge sauce was to die for!). And their products are filled with quality ingredients. I walked out with their Organic Lavender Body Butter Creme, and it is filled with amazing organic oils (see below). I bought it as my new belly butter since I had just run out of my Mama Bee Belly Butter. Now I just smell heavenly all the time.

My new belly butter! The smell is intoxicating - I can't help but smile every time I put it on.

Are you smelling the lavender yet? Or is your mouth watering for some of that lavender fudge sauce?? Well, don't fret! You don't have to physically walk into the store to indulge in the many forms of lavender they offer - you can buy it all online on their website as well and have it shipped to your front door. I know that's what I will be doing when I'm off-island again. Just can't get enough of that pure fresh organic lavender smell!
