My mom and I went blueberry picking the other day at Sunshine Valley Farm - the berries were some of the tastiest I've had in awhile! And they're gorgeous - just look at 'em!
I needed a few days of space to distance myself from part two of the Des Moines weekend before I wrote about it. What was part two, you ask??
After the wedding, we headed to St. Joseph to visit our dear friends Meg & Ryan who had recently had a baby, Fletcher Wayne. It was a short but very sweet visit, quickly catching up on our lives since we had seen them last, enjoying dinner together and talking "baby" stuff. We laughed about how much our lives have changed over the last year, going from summer wine nights on the lawn to conversations about sleep schedules and cloth diapering. After Fletcher went to sleep, we enjoyed milk and cookies, and a game of Dutch Blitz at their kitchen table.
Well, the start of our trip to Des Moines was a bit different than we anticipated. We were headed up there for Brannon's cousin Brian's wedding (with Harvey) and left Friday midday. There was a pre-wedding party that night, then the wedding, cocktail hour, dinner and reception tomorrow. Quite the eventful weekend. We left on time (barely) and then right past Clinton, MO (about 1.5 hours from Springfield) Harvey started running...funny. He started sputtering and jolting - not exactly what you want towards the beginning of a longer trip. We ended up turning around about 20 minutes outside of Clinton and headed back to town - better to be in a town with some potential resources and repair shops instead of stuck on the side of the road.
